2019 Class formation

We are committed to ongoing, positive partnerships between home and school, to best support our students.

It is crucial that we know of students who will be returning but may be away at the beginning of the school year, as these students can be counted in our total enrolment and will contribute to maximising the number of teachers we are entitled to. This in turn, reduces the ratio of teachers to students across the school.

1. Early in Term 4, we will begin the process of forming classes for 2019 and we call for your input. Please advise us (by email, note to your child’s teacher, or by phone 07 5436 6888) whether:

  • your child/children will be transferring to another school in 2019
  • you are planning holidays that will delay the return of your child/children beyond the first day of school - Tuesday 29 January 2019
  • there is any other reason that your child/children may have a delayed start to the year (so we can factor them in during the class formation process)
  • you have another child to be enrolled (in this case – please submit an enrolment form at the school office)

2. In forming classes, we consider such matters as friendships, gender balance, and academic factors. Teachers are closely involved in this formation process, as they know their students very well in the school setting.

  • Please advise us of any specific requests regarding your child’s placement for 2019.  Please be aware that parents are not able to request a specific teacher for their child.
