​Talking to your child about their day has a number of benefits. It allows you to develop a solid relationship with your child and let them know that you are interested in what happens in their day. A number of studies have shown that it also strengthens children’s social and emotional development along with their brain development.

Studies have shown that back and forth conversations with children changes their brain. It has been shown that it boosts a child’s brain development and language skills. The study found that the crucial factor in development are human relationships and social interactions. By engaging your child in an ongoing conversation about something that they are interested in allows your child to develop the language processing skills that they need. 

A great time to have a conversation with your child is on the way home from school about their day.
