Expression of interest for Surfing Excellence Program


​Students wishing to participate in the Currimundi State School Surfing Excellence Programs must meet the following criteria.


(Please note: this is not a learn to surf program)

  • must be surf safe – competent swimmer
  • must have prior surfing experience
  • Surf Groms Course
  • regular surfing experience
  • must be at least in Year 2.

If the above criteria has been met, students will be invited to trial. If accepted into the program, students will start in the Development Group. (Progression to the Excellence Group is via the Development Group).


  • Sessions
    • Development Group: Thursday 7–8.15am
    • Excellence Group: Friday 7–8.15am
  • Sessions will be held between Beach Access 261 and 263. (Ann Street - Bell Street)
  • Boards and Rashies provided.


$150 per Semester ($75 per term based on a minimum of 7 sessions per term).

The Department of Education through Currimundi State School is collecting personal information in accordance with the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006 in order to register your interest in the Surfing Excellence Program. The information will only be accessed by employees of the Department of Education. The information will not be given to any other person or agency unless prior consent is obtained.
