Currimundi State School - Riding the Waves to Success.
Currimundi is a small, friendly school by the beach. It is a school small enough for the Principal to
get to know every student yet large enough to have every resource required to
challenge and extend all students.
Teachers each have a deep knowledge of their students
as individuals and genuinely care for them. They proudly tell me that they love
the school and are full of praise for the student population. The non-teaching
staff are talented and committed and each contribute to a truly supportive
school environment. The office staff, the groundsman, the teacher aides,
and the cleaners all have a pride in their school and the desire to support our
young people.
We have high levels of involvement of parents; in the
tuckshop, at the second-hand uniform shop and around the school. They too have
been caught up in, and form part of, the engaging culture of this beautiful
school.
Built upon this powerful foundation of pride, joy,
respect and care is a rigorous, productive, and fun approach to education.
Dedicated teachers teach the Australian Curriculum with a wide-range of
evidence-based approaches in an engaging and age-appropriate manner. The
end-product of all this is for each of our young people to thrive in school,
the work force, and life.
Our school’s vision, ‘Riding the Waves to Success’,
tells all students that they can have success with practice and effort. We need
to be confident to have a go and accept that we will fall off from time to
time. Our teachers build the necessary knowledge and skills in all students to
ensure that they develop confidence and competence to ride those waves to
success.
We take pride in our behaviour, cooperation and
manners - we refer to it as ‘Currimundi Courtesy’. We have all the things that
other great schools have but we have something else – I call it “Uniquely
Currimundi”(PDF 703KB).
Please contact the school to book in a group tour of our facilities. Further information can be found here on the Currimundi State School Website and on our Currimundi State School Facebook page.
