On Friday 28 October we are recognising and supporting the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, Day for Daniel, with a walk from Dicky Beach SLS before school. Held annually on the last Friday of October, Day for Daniel honours the memory of Daniel Morcombe. The Foundation asks that Australians on this day to Wear Red and educate your children regarding child safety matters.
If you wish to participate with this walk please meet us at the Dicky Beach Surf Life Saving Club at 7:55am on the beach side. Students and families are encouraged to wear a RED shirt this day in support.
The Daniel Morcombe Foundation theme this year is brave conversations.
Parents, carers, and educators are encouraged to start a conversation with children and young people about personal safety. Schools and early learning centres conduct child safety education activities. Businesses and community come together to raise awareness of child safety issues. If you would like to continue this conversation at home the following link has some useful resources.
